Coach Humza

Br. Humza manages a family-owned and operated printing company and is involved in his local masjid and Islamic work in general. He has many hobbies and DIY skills and loves spending time outdoors. His skills include gardening, butchering, tree work, hunting, fishing, archery, maple syrup-making, carpentry, sculpting, art, business consulting, tajweed, cooking, sewing, sleeping….did we miss anything?

Coach Tariq

Sh. Tariq was born in Cedar Rapids, IA, the home of the Mother Mosque of the America. He graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA with a B.A. in Business Administration. He was then very blessed to receive a scholarship from the Islamic University of al-Madinah al-Munawwara in Saudi Arabia where he studied Arabic from the Arabic institute and then graduated from the department of Islamic Jurisprudence, completing a B.A., Masters, and Ph.D. in Shariah (Islamic law). Tariq speaks fluent English and Arabic.

From udhiyyah to field dressing wild game; deer, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, geese and more. Cuts of meat, jerky, curing, bacon… We’ve been doing this awhile.

We love the outdoors and you will love it too! We teach camping, fire building, wood chopping, cooking, and much more. On hikes, we teach tree and plant ID, navigation, spotting animal sign.

Hunting & Fishing

We hunt and fish all the time in all different seasons and with various weapon and tackle types and utilize most every method.

Animal Slaughter & Butchering

From udhiyyah to field dressing, domesticated animals to wild game, deer, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, geese and more. Roasts, jerky, curing, brining, smoking, bacon, etc.

Islamic Education

Alhamdulillah, our coach Sh Tariq received a PhD from the University of Madinah. In addition, we have highly qualified guest speakers and coaches.

Property Development

Land clearing, controlled burns, heavy equipment, pond management, building and construction. We are experienced in tree work, chainsaw care and tree-climbing.

Disaster Relief

Iowa flood of 2008, Iowa Derecho (in-land hurricane) of 2020, and experience with other natural and human disasters such as blizzards, tornadoes and fires.
